Custom Intercooler pipeing and intake

Custom Intercooler pipeing and intake

i was going toj re make the intake and get rid of all the black plastic tubeing and get some SS 3" pipe and make the rest down to the AFM.. and then down to my cold air filter to clean up the engine.. i found this pic.. what i need to know is what type of fitting is that at the beggining of the plasctic tube by the intake manafold.. i looks like there is a bit of plastic pipe then rubber then the pipe.. what is this rubber?

silicone hose connecters.. what every IC and intake use. you can get them in reducer sizes like that.

maybe its just a cover.. whos car is that in the pic that i posted.. does anyone know any info on that car?

OKay does that look wierd to anyone else? It looks like a turbo setup, but its not a turbo. should'nt that air filter be connected to the main pipe coming off the throttle body? also where is the pipe going that is connected to the filter?

its the covers, you can tell by the hose clamps on each side, BUT is that the trust or cusco strut bar?

it's an N/A engine with a turbo.
