nice i've thought about using a hard pipe i figured it'd flow better tahn the ribbed rubber stock piece, i also thoughht it would make the intake louder as the metal won't deaden engine sound, is it louder?

looks good, now get a good box around it to keep the hot air out, and get a vented headlight cover to put some air into the box

not only lengthened its not rubber anymore, look how the stock rubber is ribbed so it will bend, that causes turbulence

Could we get some close up pics too? You're going to need a box pretty badly.

ah yes, metal. metal is sweet because it conducts heat so nicely.

i would like to make something like that is it just straight piping? and do you think that maybe a civic intake pipe could be cut tyo fit? THey are prettt straght with a about 45 degree bend at the end might be nice, but maybe the straight works better?

actually its not metal... its a type of aluminum and it is made for intake use only, it does not absorb heat as well as many other metals... i have tested this piping on several other cars working with intakes in the past... its not just a hunk of steel... im not just the biggest dumbass ok... please keep this thread clean

SHHHH!!!! it is a civic intake (im not a ricer!!! i know my car is still slow) but ya the 45 degree bend was way to much so i hacked it off right behind the N2o injector on the intake and that takes out as much as you need and then fabricate a mounting bracket...

Where's your pressure sensor?
it is relocated under the intake... it is bolted firmly to an existing hole that went to nothing and also is a good ground just in case the sensor bracket needed to be grounded

love your setup cwsttu but i wouldn't go making a point to prove your not the biggest dumbass by starying with its not metal its aluminum. (Aluminum is metal) But i do agree aluminum it much better than steel, thats why I asked about the civic intake

wasn't saying you are dumb...in fact there is a guy who made a CAI setup for the NA rx7 using stainless piping and tried to sell it for 150 bucks a pop (i think), don't know if he really sold any or not though. is the aluminum coated with something? that would be best as aluminum still is a good conducting metal.

i did not say it does not conduct heat..i said just not as well as steel.. as for my comment earlier i was mistaken.. for some reason i said aluminum was not a metal.. i retract that statement... please do not insult me, not saying anybody has but i just wanted a few comments on them and you doing fine....

I don't know why i didn't ask before but did you notice any difference over just a cone? i figure that with that pipe you'll still be drawing air from the same space so any notticable diff would be from the piupe you get any more power?

well..... i havnt driven it yet.. cause i cannot get the car to hold an idle... i have done several things to the car when it was down...(remove air pump, TB mod and porting, intake, acv blockoff plate, sub zero block off plate...) but now it cranks wonderful after unflooding and running it with my foot but when i let go it will just die... ive adjusted my TPS to 1v according to what several other threads say to do and still no luck although that helped it a little

Did you adjust the idle screw? And did you adjust the TPS when the car was warmed up?

i'm gonna have to use it too i think only with a 90 of 3 inche pvc pipe after the AFM to go through a hole i'll cut for cold air with hard pipes, i can just feel the air flow lol

None like you ever seen? i made one of those last year bro for my 88 N/A, they are a little loud but i noticed a big difference, it was a little over a .1 faster in the 1/4 too. but i used stainless for mine and the fittings were tigged on.

No disrespect intended since you obviously sound more intelligent than a lot of people posting, but you said it's aluminum, yes you corrected the not metal thing , but do you happen to know what kind of allow mixture it is? I know that regular aluminum conducts heat like crazy, so I'm just curious what it's made of. They use aluminum for heatsinks in all sorts of electronics.
