custom halfshaft? searched

hey y'all, has anyone done this before? in the accident i had months back, my right halfshaft broke. i was wondering if anyone had made a custom halfshaft in order to replace the broken part. well mainly i was thinking of taking the na half shaft cut it where i need replacing on my turbo driveshaft, and weld it really well. will this work?

Not to point out the obvious but why not buy another halfshaft? I'm sure there are plenty of people on the board with parts cars that would be willing to part with one for cheap.

it might not be advisable to have an unbalanced part that spins so fast.

Dude. A replacement one is probably about 60 bucks at any parts store.

Work smart, not hard. Seriosuly, it seems like people try to take the absolutley hardest way out of a situation sometimes.

hardest way out? you have to take into consideration where i live in the first place. i'm possibly taking the only way out by doing this cause ordering something to Panama(that's right the country Panama) would be hmm somewhat expensive. now here there arent a lot of t2's maybe like 30 in the entire country. thats why i was asking, but hey whatever.

I realize you're in Panama, but is it really THAT difficult to have parts shipped there? Surely there must be mechanics that will be able to procure you a part if it's impossible privately.

oh i have done so, alas i have yet to see results. besides there're like 2 rotary mechanics here lol. now to order the part would bite, first of all shipping fees eat your wallet, and second, there're no really good shipping services here. basically you're stuff gets lost in the mail. now, i do think i'll be able to get one off of a t2 that is just chassis, they took the engine out and put it in a datsun wtf, but i dunno if the guy will be willing to sell it without trying to sell me the entire car.

Where did it break?
What caused it to break?
If you were doing something stupid, then other parts under the car might be bent or broken - it would be advisable to get rid of the car if you can't find the parts or pay for them to be imported.

Can you find a welder who can weld the broken piece together?
