custom exhaust?

Alright guys, i've got a choice here. I have an 87 n/a base rx7. I have a Bonez intake and Bonez race pipe (no cats). And i also plan on taking the air pump off and other emissions crap. Now, here is the problem: I have to pass visual inspection, not emission. So, i put the cats back on but of couse the stock cat back exhaust has a hole in the y-pipe and a hole in the right muffler. So, basically i need a new cat back. Now the question: should i go dual exhaust or single exhaust (i plan on putting the race pipe back on)? And if the answer is single, they said they could make me 2 1/2 inch aluminized pipe to a stainless steel muffler for $210. What should i do?

it is a matter of personal preference. I prefer dual mufflers for the look and balance they give. If you like single go single if you like dual go dual.

well i would say whatever is the cheapest way to go. if you just need it to pass the visual and are immediately putting the race pipe back on, what's the point of spending more money on something youre gonna use once a year.

my 2 cents

The corksport is probably the best quality for the best price, the only downside is it's a single. (http://www.corksport.com)

HP, may harm low-end torque just a little bit, but it'll more than make up for it on the high-end, and it's nice and light!
