You were told they were given to everyone, obviously they werent...i think the whole point of this thread was to get instructions posted on the site, so that this wouldnt happen again. Thanks to all that were involved in getting the instructions posted, but personally, i think 130 days is just a little long for something that should've been posted originally. i would think 14 days is even pushing it. he could take 1 hour of his time and post a list of intructions... i would be pretty upset if this happened to my engine. pple spend a good amount of time and money into their engines, then because of something they bought that they thought they could trust, blows there engine. something should happen, not saying he should buy everyone engines, but maybe help replace or half price on the parts that were broken. i just hope pple arent left in the dark about this. |
Not to mention he could ship printed instructions with them for what like 10 cents a copy?

1987rx7, I still got em. (proper english :) ) But I'm not trying to sell them. I even have a local buyer who wantes them, but just the thought of crawling under my car and ripping it out for a couple hundered bucks does'nt sound to appealing to me. I'll probably end up trading the car in with the exahust/flywheel/PR sleeves still installed. I'm just getting lazy. :D CJ

Anyone who has done business with Rob knows that he takes care of customers to a fault, but you should not expect him to replace engines from user error (mis-installation). Instructions were available verbally and I'm sure that if there was any confusion he would have drawn a picture and faxed it to you. He provided these verbal instructions to every customer, but in the event he forgot to do so (unlikely) YOU should have asked for them. ("Hey,I didn't get instructions! Rob, how do I install these?"). Simple as that. NO ONE was refused instructions and Pineapple Racing always made itself available to do the installation for FREE if asked. At least, that is my take. I don't work for Pineapple Racing and cannot speak for Rob on this matter. Call him if you have any questions. Originally posted by Blake BTW, I'm not a Forum regular and I'm not a Pineapple Racing employee, so further questions or comments on this issue should be directed to Pineapple Racing by phone (503) 233-3878. I have to tell you that if 50% of what I read in this thread, the thread at No Pistons and the actual first hand writeup with pictures at Rotary Aviation (as many threads are now full of) a serious legal issue exists with this product. I am sure the folks at PR are fully aware of the hit in credibility they are taking. I am also sure they know every customer who purchased a set. If true, you have to ask yourself, how much trouble would it have been to address this problem in there web site 129 days ago (no excuses on being busy buddy!), or send out a letter to everyone. I hope that everyone who has a set takes the time to pull them out and inspect. I would not want to see someone loose everything becasue a motor goes boom at 70mph. sorry to rant but I feel the community needs to take some action here. |
so is it safe to install them now or what?

if you are really that concerned with them possibly failing, pay the extra $ for the atkins 5&6 port sleeves.

Yes it is safe..
http://www.pineappleracing.com/instr...ctions2c-s.pdf Current instructions outlined there are basically: clean super well, use loctite and punch the edge to hold them. |
