Cupholder Ideas?

Lemme see/hear em. Now that my car runs and drives, I need some place to put my drink.

I agree with cymfc3s get your woman to hold it. Or dont by a big slurpy and drive. We cant condone drinking and driving alcohol on here now can we???

Were supposed to be responsible drivers not like the honda rice boys.

I hate having drinks in the car. I bought this huge super size coke at mcdonalds once and was driving back home in my 323. Doing about 40, big coke in between my legs, a deer ran across the road, i slammed on my brakes and the coke tipped over and emptied all over my pants and front carpet. I had to keep driving because there was nowhere to pull over, i could hear the ice crunching beneath the clutch pedal. Made a huge mess. When i got a chance to pull over i threw the empy cup about 50 feet. I was so pissed. No drink for me and i spent an hour cleaning my car out.

A long time ago before one of the great crashes of the RX-7 Forum, there was a thread where some guys used the cupholder assembly from an Altima and fitting it into the din spacing beneath his aftermarket stereo to hold conventional drinks. The only concern was that it looked like it could/would interfere with shifting in a manual but the guy who did it had an auto so it didn't matter to him. The cupholder assembly that was used was a retractable version so whichever Altima had that is the one you want if you want to try it.

If you do that, then all you will hear every night is
I held you drink remember.
and you'll never again. Most women dont get the full enjoyment of your car. There are exceptions.

I'm working on one right now. I've ordered another center console / armrest and plan to combine a cut portion with a miata cup holder. If I do it right, it should look stock.

I've also seen cupholders mounted behind the armrest and that works really well. Even the 44 OZ cups work in that one.
