ctrl link replacement: use lube?

I'm replacing the control links on my 91 Vert. Should I use any lubrication on the inner metal bushing/mating surfaces?

If so, what type? Is wheel bearing grease okay?

Thanks

White grease works great, but bearing grease should be ok.

Is the white grease known as Lithium grease? I've got some in a spray can.

I wasn't trying to be funny or anything.
White grease is white grease. It is not the same as lithium grease.

I suggested white grease because it is not contaminated by water like wheel bearing grease is, and will not wash off like wheel bearing grease would. It also does not contaminate rubber like other greases do. Since it is a suspension component, road water will be an issue, but wheel bearing grease *might* be ok since the fittings are so tight.

I was just answering your question:

"If so, what type?"

I wasn't trying to be a smartass. Sorry if it came out that way.

Here, lemme try again:

Yes, use grease. I recommend the use of white grease. It can be bought at any automotive store in both plastic container form and in tubes for fitment in a grease gun. It is not available in spray form since it is so thick.

Synthetic grease may also work. Synthetic grease is a good all-application grease.

Hope that helps, and good luck with your install.

Hey, no problem Scathcart.

Just finished the install tonight and used some stuff that I bought in a tube (also came in a tub)

Sta-Lube's
Multipurpose
Super White Grease

Said it was great at resisting water & good for metal to metal contact...etc.

It was amazing at how stiff the new Mazdatrix links were compared to the ones I pulled out. Old ones were so compliant I could move the inner bushing around almost 1/4".

Test drove it....no clunks. Tomorrow will be the test when things are warmer.

Thanks again for the recommendation and the last response.
