Cruise control Vac line??? on S4 NA to TII?
Well I'm finishing up my conversion and have one thing left over which I don't under stand.
The NA's have a round canister cruise control system.
It has the throttle cable and a Vac line.
Where the hell do I connect this vac line on my S5 UIM TII engine?????

You don't. The NA style cruise actuators are vacuum operated. The t2, even when cruising, can see boost (if you encounter a hill, for instance). The NA cruise actuator probably wouldnt work so well under boost. The t2 stock actuator is fully electric, the only thing connecting to the engine is the cruise cable itself.
For now, leave the damn cruise off
Later, get a t2 actuator, it plugs right in and works.

Oh bullshit. I use a vacuum operated cruise control unit on my 87 conversion and it works just fine. Others have posted on this forum with the same results.
I've never seen a series five car.....but it shouldn't be THAT hard to fine a vacuum source/nipple. Tee into one and you'll be ok.

Bullshit in that the vacuum operated one will work just fine for the originator of this thread. If he wants to waste money and time buying an electric one, he can go right ahead.
I've driven numerous times from Ft Worth to Corpus Christi (aoprox 850 round trip) with no problems. As in NONE. Several other folk that have made the na to turbo conversion will agree and have agreed in the past on this forum that the vacuum operated one works just fine and dandy.

HAILERS, please show me above where I state that the NA vacuum cruise actuator WILL NOT work on the turbo engine. I said it probably isnt a good idea to try it, and it certainly isnt designed for it. I have never actually done it.
To a logical person, it would stand to reason that mazda wouldn't go to the trouble of designing and paying for a seperate system for one model of car if it wasn't deemed necessary. We all know how manufacturers cut costs anywhere possible, even in places they shouldnt, so in most cases if something like this is present, you can bet it is necessary.
You may be fully right that you'll never experience a problem doing this. I havent tried, so I can't say. I can only say how it SHOULD be. You yourself are one of the biggest "by the book" type of guys that I know, I would have thought you'd be on the same side. Doesnt much matter to me though, he can do what he wants, as can you.
While you're here, why don't you tell him to use the NA computer on his turbo engine, too. IT will crank up, run, and drive just fine, with no problems. Until it blows the f*&^ up, that is.
