It's the lever from an S4. It's a mazdatrix short throw

Update:

I believe it was the shifter binding up on something. I got home and removed the shifter and reinstalled it, quadruple checking everything. Goes into every gear now and doesn't lock out. Some gears are harder to get into than other, but they do go in
