This is a much better designed rollbar:

Even if CP wasn't a bad company I still wouldn't get their bar, as it doesn't seem to be as well designed or thought out. If you are willing to part with the car for a week or more then a custom rollbar is the way to go as you'll get exactly what you want, although it may/will cost more to get it done that way.

http://www.fc3s.org/how_tos/safety/coupe_rollbar.html

I (3rd year mechanical engineering student) think that most or all of the commercially available roll cages (6+ point) aren't that well designed (the cusco one isn't very good at all), with inadaquate bracing. If you're doing more than a 4 point then get a custom one, it'll be safe and can be made to be race legal (SCCA, NASA, whatever). I doubt that any of the commercial cages come close to being legal. An illegal cage can be worse than no cage, it can be dangerous and some organisations that do track days may not let you run with a bad cage, but allow you to run without it (just guessing here, that's what I'd do if it was my choice). Also, for more than a 4 point you really need to start cutting up the dash to get the best shape of the tubes, as they should be as straight as possible with as few bends as possible (the cusco one goes in front of the dash with many bends = bad). You'll end up with more room with the front bars going through the dash as well. Really, for a street driven car a 4 point bar is as much as you'll ever really want to run, unless you're really hardcore and drive it only to the track and maybe every once and a while on the street. You'll constantly bang your head on a 6+ point one, it'll be harder to get in and out of and you can crack your skull open on it in an accident if you have no helmet on.

Oh, and by the way, Chris at CP Racing is a thief and a fraud. If it weren't for credit card fraud protection he would have robbed me of almost $700. I am considering a class action suit. There are too many forum members that have been shafted by him. The concensus though is that they would rather beat him than sue him.

How car can you lean the seat back w/ the autopower bar? I am pretty tall so I have to lean back decently far. My friend has it in his Type-R and it fit me fine, could this be said to be the same?
