Could I have killed the Starter?
A few days ago, car started fine. Drove it for 10 minutes, stopped for gas. As usual, had to use the fuel cut switch to get it started, no big deal. Drove for a minute and stopped to pickup something. Tried to start it using the fuel cut, but here is where my problems started. It would start, but would then die. This usually happens if you stop/start the car a few times, like I did. I tried it a number of times, and each time it would crank, fire up, then die. Sounded like it was getting very flooded.
Eventually, it would just crank but not fire up. I tried this for a few minutes, then heard the starter getting weaker and weaker, obviously the battery was being drained. Tried to get a boost from somebody, starter sounded fine, but would still not fire up. Very flooded I believe. I called the CAA (AAA for those, south of the border ). We tried to jump start it again, still nothing (but starter sounded strong). Got it towed home. Later that night, tried to get a jump start, but the Starter sounded slow again. Would not start.
The next day, went to crank it up, but the starter sounded very slow, I think the battery was probably drained. Went out today and bought a new battery. Hooked it up, tried to crank her, but the starter sounds slow again. That's the story in a nutshell.
Have I killed the starter, or is it something else? I've never had any electrical problems with the starter/alternator/battery.
HELP!

Go get it push started. After you get it running let the alt charge the battery. I know its new, but maybe the engine just lost compression and thats why it sounds weak. After doing that for a while see if the starter is still slow.
