geez that sounds like alot......

I know this is off topic but driving I smell gas in the car itsself and there is a broken rear tailight and air can come in through it but it seems like its comming from the center of the car (auto tranny) area...I'm not sure, would a small gasket leak cause that too?

lol, weirdest analogy ever

well, it would because of backpressure generate by the mufflers and cats. the gaskets are cheap from NAPA or better yet mazda. they have better quality ones.

what color is the smoke and how much is there? is it a fresh built engine?

that's a giant *** sig pic..
I also have a leak somewhere under the car, went to some local mechanic and they say the Y-pipe's leaking, which I'm pretty sure if complete bs well that's not the only thing's that's leaking, easiest way's just take it to a rotary shop near you and have them check it out, taking mine down to Rp tommorow cause I'm pretty sure the exhuast is pretty quickly killing me. But visible smoking's not good.

Gasoline smell could likely be coming from the Charcoal Canister. Check the outlet pipe and see if there is any wet gas here. If so, the checkvalve going into the intake plenum is likely bad - the engine never sucks the vapor collection out of the canister and it ends up running over. That causes a continual raw gasoline smell.

The other likely place is the pulsation damper on the fuel injector rail. This thing fails and leaks gas onto the top of the engine. the leak is under all the hoses and stuff, so it's real hard to see. Also, this problem is a REAL fire hazard. Many an RX has gone up in flames because of a failed pulsation damper, so don't delay repair if this is your problem.

Check the canister first - it's real easy to see. Then replace the pulsation damper (tip: spend the dough to get a brand new one from Mazda. never replace it with a salvage one)
