could the A/C really be causing my car to run so hot?

Its winter here and my temp will shoot up to almost 3/4 if Im sitting for too long. 1/2 just drivin around sometimes. I replaced fan clutch, rad, and thermo. My A/C's been out since Ive had the car, about a year now, and I hear it can block something up. My motors a mazda rebuild with only 30k on it so I wouldnt think I have internal problems. Just wanna know so I can pull my A/C out.

i live in fla and its hot here all the time..my temp is always 1/2. my a/c never causes my car to overheat. but if youve replaced your thermostat then your getting good flow. im not aware of the blockage you talk about causing overheating maybe the guage and sending unit for your temps are bad? try having another guage installed..i know many people who have 2 temp guages because they know that the oem guage system is very vulnerable to failure! maybe your just getting a false reading...but dont wait around to check it out...the biggest enemy to a rotory is overheating..maybe the new engine is a result of some kind of lingering overheating prob that never got resolved?

hope all works out

The A/C will only add to the cooling system's load if it's running. The A/C condensor in front of the radiator may be blocked with crap picked up of the road, so check that.
I hope that's a Mazda thermostat...
