I was wondering How much (in $$) everyone thinks it would cost to rebuild the engine and
Turbo back to stock specs. With a Shop doing all of the work.

I dont have much money now, but later I will be looking at puttuing some money into it.

Carl Byck, didnt you have a shop? could you PM me their name and ph#? do they do a good job?

avg price for engine rebuild is 2-2.5k depending on materials and labor costs.

standard S5 turbo rebuild/upgrade is about 500.

so 3k, if everything else on the engine is in tip-top shape.

engine rebuilds can be found for much much less though, if you do some shopping.

 

if your looking to do it yourself, id get an Atkins video. from what i hear they tell you pretty much everything you need to know and they might have rebuild kits. their site is http://www.atkinsrotary.com

 

I can usually do a turbo II engine rebuild for $12-1300, provided no internal damage has occured already (broken apex seals), plus shipping both ways, core may be required up front. Streetporting is available...
