cosmo re / 2nd gen rebuild kit compatiblity
Anyone have a list, link etc of what rebuild parts are compaidable with a cosomo re?
I have a 2nd gen rear main seal, front cover gasket, oil pan gasket, tension bolt washers, dowel pin oring's and a thermo pellet. are these parts compatible with a cosmo re? i know the fuel injector parts are 2nd gen stuff but wasnt sure if parts were the same all the way though

YUP is comparable i just rebuild my motor. The man you want to talk is Ray Crowe, good people to deal with 1888-533-3400. the only thing i had problems with the oil pan gasket i receveive the third gen one and did not work for the cosmo, so i called Ray back 2 days later i had the right one of s5 fit perfect. if need the parts numbers let me know, later.

Everything internal on the shortblock is the same, everything external is different with the possible exception of fuel injector stuff. I think the front cover gasket is like the FD ones, but you can use an s5 FC gasket for that and just trim a little bit out where the extra bolt hole is on top.

if i am not wrong the fuel injectors are diferent. the primry rail is for side feed injectors and the secondary top feed, i used a s4 primary with adapters., . as far as the gasgets are all the same ,specially if you are using the 2nd gen front cover.

Uhm guys...the cosmo RE has FD style intake ports with the tall oval angled runners, while the 13bt has the flat shorter runners. I don't see any way that they could be anywhere near the same. The intake on the REW is smaller than the RE, and the REW and 13bt are totally different as well.
Waterpump housing to block would be the same. Waterpump would probably not, but I dont recall the specific bolt pattern.
Oilpump pickup would be the same. The oilpan MIGHt be the same, I don't recall.

I figured the intake manifold gaskets were different, but i wasn't worried about that.
I was mainly worried about front cover, pan and internals, (o-rings under front cover, pickup tube etc)
I run an S4 water pump so im fine with thoes gaskets.

If the outside oil pan dimensions (i.e. flange / bolt pattern) is identical, you'd need to cut out that center part of the gasket that the FC 13B uses for the passenger side engine mount.
