correcting factory alarm issues

So i have the factory alarm, and usually leave my doors unlocked at home *gated house*, and early in the morning my alarm went off.. i know its been recently that my alarm will trigger with the doors unlocked, seems like something in the door lock switch not tripping the alarm to go on/off.. Any ideas? contacts inside the switch go bad? Its getting pretty annoying when Ill jump in my car at a parking alot and the alarm turns on and blasts off lol.

If you want it to work properly, I'd start by diagnosing switches (lock cylinder, lock button, door pins, hood/trunk, etc.) and then move on to checking out the more expensive parts.

If you just want to shut it off by unplugging it, I believe the Theft computer is near the pass. side footwell.

Mine did the exact same thing very annoying. I could never leave the car unlocked or the alarm might go off. It turned out to be the drivers door lock switch. I just cleaned the contacts and put it back together, no problems for 2 years now.

The "Board" is probably the one that goes in the CPU. On the S5 cars this is where the alarm controllers are.

The S4 Alarm is in its on box under the Pass dash.

A good thing to do (till you kill it or fix it) is to watch the security light0 and/or listen for a BEEP when you lock your door or such.
