Contact Corksport and ask them about the upgrade eg what to expect boost wise, etc. I installed an ECU upgrade in my S5TII, and without any other equipment, right out of the box it took the boost from 7 to 10/11 lbs. That's with the stock air intake system and 2.5" exhaust.

They are just a vendor for the tuner in CA that makes them. They made claims to me so I called the guy who makes the chip and basically it depends on your set up. The guy told me that he couldn't guarantee it for a ported motor and he idealy needs to chip the ECU then dyno test it and make adjustments. I can't remember the guys name who makes the chips but if I were you I would talk to him personally before making a decision.

I would save the $300 and just go for a full stand alone when you have enough money. It'd be better to have a stand alone ECU dyno tuned specific to your modifications, octane rating, weather pattern, altitude, etc.
I am a firm believe in stand alone's, however if you can not wait for a stand alone I would go with something that has a little more support then the Corksport ECU....perhaps a Greddy E-Manage? Or something similar to it? I'll probably call Greddy myself and find out if they know of results with the e-manage.
