cooling problems

i have 2 problems concerning my cooling system.....i have the AC condenser taken out as well as the AC cooling fan.so it havent over heated as of yet...however coolant is leaking out of the system somehow....the overflow tank seems to be filled at all times but every few days when i open the fill neck next to the alternator....its empty....i fill it and bleeds the air out....but it always seems to empty itself after a couple of days.... it doesnt seem to be leaking out any of the joints....the heater core doesnt seem to be leaking..however there is always a wet spot behind the driver side seat...

...on to the second problem....the water temp guage never seems to get any higher than 1/8 on the guage....i know the stock guage is extremely not accurate...but shouldnt it atleast show itself in the right position....like 1/3 or 1/4 of the way?....since the weather has gotten colder....i think the needle hasnt moved away from C...the hot air coming out of the vent is about the right temp....would this be becasue of a bad coolant temp sensor or because i removed AC condenser?

thanks

sounds like ther thermostat may be missing, and that you have a coolant leak into the engine. What color are the spark plugs if you check them???

does sound like no thermostat to me, mine ran that cool with out one....

can you see if the hose behind and under the upper intake manifold is leaking?? thats a tricky leak spot to find???

does your car have very excessive white smoke on start up or driving around?? ( harder to tell if its just condensation or not tho at this time of the yr...) that would inicate a posible coolent seal failure inside of the engine like ice mark said.

the thermostat is def in there......put a brand new one from mazdatrix last winter when i did my rebuild....the plugs seems black last time i checked....i'll pull them again to let u guys know...the engine pulls hard and doesnt seem to miss a beat

and its def not burning any coolant....cause my engine died last time wiht a blown seal and i remembered the giant white cloud of smoke after each start up...so yeah....no burning coolant.....the exhaust smells heavy of fuel...thats about it....
