coolent system problems

coolent system problems

i have no clue whats wrong with my car?
i have to fill my coolent everyday now, its not leaking underneith my car. i find pudles of it in my driverside floor. a friend said it might be the heatercore, but he also said the car shouldnt give heat out of the ducts if the heatercore is bad. i also get these sticky oily substances on the inside of my windsheild at night and in the morning which dont go away when i use the defrost.

*no leaks undernieth the car
*car makes heat

can anyone help me out. -JJ

yeap, you might also check the coolant line that goes into the firewall right behind the intake, mine was leaking right there one time and leaking down in side the car. All i had to do was tighten the hose clamp to fix it.

Most of the time the rubber should keep it from getting inside the car if it's the hose, but it is a possibility.

That's the definitive clue - heater core leak.

Plan to replace the heater core, but in the meantime - try Aluma-seal.

i tightend it as good as i could and there was alot of coolent around that hose which i think might be the problem. anyway do you think that could cause the residue on the windshield too

or is the heatercore also going bad thanks

I had to replace the ghetto mazda clamp with a regular band clamp to get it to stop leaking. If its not the hose, then the heater core might be leaking at the elbow. Go to like advance auto and rent a coolant pressure tester so you can see where its leaking. If you dont see it leaking there at the hose, then its inside the car.
