I only drive my car in the summer, which isn't long up here in Canada. I use about 80% water and only 20% EG. Just the regular Prestone stuff.

just the normal green Prestone is fine. in terms of cooling performance, pure water works the best (off the shelf fluids anyways), however that is HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED due to corrosion issues. i run about 75% water, and the rest is coolant with a bottle of water wetter.

Dude, we aren't choosing turbine A/R's for best spool-up vs top end. Its just COOLANT.

Get the Prestone. Use 50/50...end of story

i wouldn't use the red ****, working with cars i have seen way too many of the red coolant's eat away at gaskets and seals, it is a more porous fluid and tends to find a way out of the system. go with the prestone 50/50.

The red stuff is prestone. Debating on which prestone to use.

thats right its says 50/50 on the bottle cause its already mixed with water to a ratio of 50% water and 50% antifreeze

just to make it simple pour that in and add a bottle of redline "water wetter" put hte caps back on and be done with it

they have extended life green coolant now, i haven't checked to see which type you are referring to but keep in mind that some red coolants do not mix with green so pay close attention to the instructions or you could have a gel like substance in your engine which could lead to overheating or other side affects.

i still wouldn't recommend using a red type of coolant though if both of your choices are that.

I went to walmart a while ago and they had only ONE kind of fluid. It was universial stuff. However, it was green . The red stuff wasnt there at all.

Personally, I live in a place that never dips below freezing. I just used 50 50 and distilled water.

And that premixed stuff is such a damn rip off. Wish I thought of it first

yup, 1 dollar less and you get half the coolant. disregard my suggestion on using the 50/50 stuff because you will need 2 gallons and i was unsure at the time which you were referring to 5/150 is red coolant, i assumed the 50/50 was green.

sorry.... i didnt know you were talking pre-mix....... what a rip off!! just buy GREEN prestone 100% and then dilute it with distilled water.......... the red stuff is called DEX-COOL and is designed for gm products...... it will deteriorate all your rubber parts..... dont use it!!! the reason gm uses it is due to its extended life, but thier motors are disigned for dexcool

You are right on Viper... The PRESTONE 5/150 specifically states on the box that it is DEX COOL and okay for GMs. But it says it can be used for any car...
That is where I was confused, I didnt know which PRESTONE to use, 50/50 or 5/150... But now that you say the 5/150 is bad, I will exchange it for the 50/50. Whew, Thank you viper!!!!
