Coolant leak

Ever since I bought my 87' TII it has seemed to have a coolant leak. At first it would need new coolant about every couple of days. Now it seems to run out in less than a day. I found that it's coming from the back of the engine and is leaking all over the block. Dried coolant is also all over the hoses back there so it's kinda hard to pinpoint. Does anybody have any idea where the leak could be coming from? I'm hoping it's not seeping out of the eninge itself (which has about 90,000 original miles on it).

I guess it's either the driver side heater hose. which goes from the driver side of the engine, to the firewall. those burst quite common.

the other one would be the throttle body coolant line, which is under the intake manifold, then runs through the BAC vavle to the front of the car.

is it more on the driver or pass side behind the engine? can you tell?

It seems to be leaking onto the driver's side of the engine.

I would think the heater hose from the block to the firewall. But I would wonder, is the coolant on the front of the engine or the rear.

If it's the rear, I would think the heater hose, if it's the center could be either, if it's the front I would look at the hose from the BAC to the rear of the water pump.

I'm an N/A guy, so if you don't have the hose the back of the water pump.. sorry.

If you see it collecting under the motor. Like mine did right behind the oil pan it's a chance it's two little 'o' rings that are in the lower intake manifold.. Mine were shot to hell when i pulled them out yesturday. replaced it all and it runs like a champ. pain in the *** though

Well it seems more than likely it's the heater hose. The coolant acutally runs down from the top of the engine on the driver side all the way down. But if that doesn't fix it I'll probably check the line off the BAC and the intake o-ring.

Most likely the heater hose. One common problem if the hose has been replaced is people don't clamp it down properly onto the heater core's nipple that sticks out of the firewall - check that as well.

I seriously doubt it's the intake manifold gasket O-rings - "blink"'s case is a rarity. On the 40+ RX-7's I've worked on, I've NEVER seen that happen.

Start with the heater hose.

I also have a coolant leak coming from the bottom of the engine toward the drivers side and recently I have replaced the heater hose and I was wondering what mine could be??? I go through a gallon of collant every couple of weeks..
PS
When my heater hose went my car reached the hottest point when I parked it.. Do you think that it is possible that I blew a coolant seal??
If so where can I get a good price on a S4 or S5 non turbo engine??
