Question Coolant issuess...

1987 Rx7 GXL N/A S4 181,440 OG miles...

So, yesterday I was driving on the highway(65mph) and got the "low coolant buzzer". Pulled over, filled it up, drove on the shoulder a bit, filled it up; than continued my way home. In my drive way, got the buzzer. Turned my car off, jacked the front end up, checked for leaks, none. I changed my radiator fluid this morning, and drove around for 20 minutes, I figured it was alright, so I revved my engine to 7k to clean out the carbon; right after that, I got the buzzer, and a bitter sweet smell of coolant. I filled it up and drove straight home, when I filled it up to the top this time, the coolant was sloshing around(fluid level arose and dropped). Now, this time I cleaned out my over flow tank and noticed what looked like red particles in there. Also to add, there were not any air bubbles when I filled the radiator up and let my car idle at the same time.

Couple of questions I asked myself, I hope someone has an answer...

Does this mean that I have identified my coolant seals withering away?

Could it be a sign that I need a new temperature sensor?

Where is my coolant going?

How long do I have until its crunch time(if not already) to find a new motor?

Any and all help is always well appreciated!

Are you getting a whole lot of smoke out the exhaust?

Yes = coolant seal and rebuild time

No = Find the leak.

be sure the coolant isn't just going into the overflow tank, if it is actually using coolant then you have to find the leak. if its just pushing and pulling coolant from the overflow then try just starting by replacing your radiator cap with an FD one, aftermarket caps usually wont hold the rated 13PSI pressure for long.

Is your overflow pissing all over the place, or white smoke? Rev it up to like 7k RPM after is warm, hold it then let go. Do you get a bunch of white smoke?

Eureka! When my radiator hoses get hot, they leak at one drip per 3 seconds for 8 minutes, than my buzzer would go off. I filled it up to rev, and no coolant smoke came out my exhaust(or exhaust leaks), but I did get smoke from the front end. So, I'm going to get hoses, temp sensor, new cap, and look into the coolant air separator device I found. and a radiator(Godspeed or Corksport) searching... Thanks farberio, Karack, and Molotov Man!

Which temp sensor do you need?

Oh, I meant thermostat, I've been searching soo much on all this coolant stuff, how to wire a e-fan to stock temp sensor; which I probably won't do until I get an aftermarket radiator because my clutch fan still spins, and can cut open a soda can. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
