coolant funnel help??

Hey im new to diy stuff and need help with my coolant issue. I think there are air bubbles in my coolant system so i got that funnel that locks on to the thermostat housing. My question is how exactly do i use it? I have 2 caps one on the thermostat housing and one on the radiator. Do i just keep the one on the radiator on while filling the thermostat housing? Then after do i leave the car on when i put the real cap back on? Im just new to this and dont wana mess anything up.

Thanks!

what you are using is called a LISLE funnel.(brand name.)
Put it on the highest point of the Cooling system.(the thermostat Housing Filler neck)
get all the air out of the Cooling system and use the bleeder on the side of the rad Neck(top).open that screw and expel any air there.
When it shows no air there, then Put the bleeder screw back in.
Now with the Coolant Funnel ON.,you will look for any air that is gonna be left in the system once the Thermostat opens up.
the car will need to be fairly Warm,,so be careful.
Once the Cooling system shows NO air IN the funnel then you canremove teh funnel and CAP the Cooling system up.
Fill the overflow bottle to just over Half way,Between LOW and HI,.
That should be enough Coolant to suck back into the system.and it should also Be OK to run.
Test the car''s temp out..Drive around the Block..let the car get warm..Check Coolant,(should be OK.).
If the temp stays Steady on the stock gauge then you are OK,(about 1/3 on the s4,and about 1/2 on the s5).
