WA Convertible Top and Seals

Can someone point me to the best dealer for a seal kit for the passenger compartment and then a top and boot.

Not sure what you mean by a seal kit for the passenger compartment.

But top would be your local auto upholster to install a Robbins top. The cheapo' tops you see on EBay are made by a company in Long Beach, CA named ACME and they are horrible construction. I own 3 Verts, I know what you need in a replacement top.

The boot, watch EBay or Craigslist. They show up from time to time.

Seals: I have leaks around the upper front of the door seals. Lots of water in when it rains in WA. state.

I recently replaced my '90 vert top with a canvas top from M&T Manufacturing. They also go by the Convertible Top guys on their retail web site. To get a vinyl Robbins top installed on my car by a Robbins dealer was going to cost me around $1,400 minimum. I found the M&T tops and read some good reviews on them and decided to take a chance. I paid a little over $600 for the top with drain tubes attached and also bought a new headliner for around $140. I took it to a good auto upholstery shop that I have used before and got it all installed for about $325. So for around a grand, I have a much better looking top than the usual vinyl tops out there. Here is a link to the Convertible Top Guys site: http://www.convertibletopguys.com/in...egory/view/862

I'll try to post up some pics of the new top tonight or tomorrow. Note that the canvas tops don't last any longer normally than vinyl but they really do dress these cars up. Some folks on the forum have installed their own top with decent results but after considering the pitfalls to the install, I decided to let the pros tackle that one for me. I am very pleased with the results.

You may want to check the Black Dragon web site for the seals. They should have what you need. You may also want to check and make sure that the seal is fully attached to the body. On my car, a portion had pulled away and was letting some water in behind it.

You can probably just adjust the rubber gutters to catch the water. Rubber channel mounted, just pull off, slide up as far as it will go, then press it back on from the top down.

If it's torn, might find a used replacement somewhere. But Mazdatrix or your local dealer hookup for a new one.

Black Dragon has them for about $100 shipped each.

I second checking the seal attachment. I just had my top replaced and the guy put some sealant on the backsides of the seals when he re installed them. That cured the drip-leak that I've had since I bought the car. I didn't end up needing a new seal like I thought.

Also, maybe check you top-latch tension? long shot, but something else to look at.
