Convertible OEM door seal leak

My father has a S5 convertible with the typical leaking top that drips right on your left leg. My question is, if he gets the OEM door seal https://www.mazdatrix.com/product/do...-92-conv-left/ will that fix the typical drip right where the top and the door meet? I know everyone eventually has a problem at that spot but will replacing with OEM seal fix it, or once the factory seal fails it's always a problem?

Good, man. Glad to see you're back at it. Let me know when you're ready to put a real ECU and big turbo on that thing

I’m pretty sure mine is caused by the seal on the top not overlapping the driver side window.

Factory OEM Mazda H2O

Best way to prevent leaks .... don't drive it in the rain and or park underground/tarp it.

They didn't leak new and both my father and I have driven ours for years before the leaks developed

I gave up on it. I replaced all of the seals. My local Mazda mechanic says he remembered them leaking on the car lots. So I just bring a towel if it rains. If someone has a fix please do share.

I think this seal on the top section is the culprit. Notice how it doesn’t overlap the window towards the front, exactly where my leak is. The passenger side overlaps .. no leak.

My side seal overlaps as it should but I still leak in that corner. My door seal doesn't look like yours tho. May be my problem.

I've owned 3 convertibles, any that have developed leaks do it in the same spot. And yes Mwpayne, right where you have posted a pic is where they all leak. My father's is absolutely pristine and he's 70+. He has no tolerance at his age for things not working. He bought a seal which was not OEM when it arrived. I'm sure he'll buy the OEM stuff instead and probably pay someone to put it on for him. I'll post results also.

That new seal fixed it. I still have a tiny gap on the bottom right side where that seal doesn’t quite touch the window. But no more leak!

Did you put the seal on yourself, or pay a shop?
