Convert to vacuum actuated aux and vdi?
Been thinking about ways to get rid of the air pump... and I havent really liked any of the solutions as far as using electric compressors (because this still loads the engine / alternator) so there is no real gain in this that i can think of
so i was wondering, since there is manifold vacuum, would it be possible to replace the aux port and vdi actuators with vacuum ones?
i know vacuum actuators exist (since they are just the pressure actuators running backwards), id imagine that there are even very similar sized all metal vacuum actuators made that might work very well for this
has anyone tried anything like this (ive searched, didnt see anything)?
also, any good sources for automotive grade (all metal) vacuum actuators?
any reasons why this wouldnt work / shouldnt be done?
*edit*
thinking something like at the bottom of this page might work http://www.bilcarparts.com/vsvii.htm

no vacume at WOT, you could rig it up so it opens when there isnt vacume, aka WOT, but that would be far less than ideal, as you couldnt floor it till 5k, or loose effeciency.
