conv / coupe clutch difference?

I am ready to replace the clutch on my 1989 GTU. I've been searching on the forums for a quite a while and I cannot seem to find a difference between the clutch kits for a convertible or a coupe. On both autozone.com and partsamerica.com there is around a $100 price difference. Does anyone know if there's any difference the two?

The only differences between the clutches is between the turbo and N/A cars. The turbo manual transmissions use a bigger clutch disc than the N/A. The convertible uses the same size clutch as the rest of the other N/A models.

just for trivia: There is a difference but only if the Turbo is a Turbo. I popped in a new clutch a hwile ago and the pressure plate was very different...guess the added weight required a stiffer plate...jut make sure you get the year right for your clutch...i did a clutch a few years back and the shaft that is on the tranny(the one that goes into the flywheel)was different tand the clutch disk did not fit over...

look at it this way - there are NA clutches and turbo clutches. exhaust is by body type (and engine) clutch is just by engine/trans
