Continuous beep @ idle. Yes I've read the FAQ!
I was checking my A/C temperature and sat in the car and let it idle for a while. Periodically, after she warmed up I would rev up the motor to 3-4k on the tach. After a bit I heard "Beep...Beep....Beep...." over and over and over - this wasn't a 1,2,3,4,5 beep and then a pause, this was a steady beep over and over and over.
Backed out of the garage without shutting the car off or anything and the beep went away. No buzzers, temperature low, no idiot lights going off.
It's done this one other time while idling. Just a repetitive beep over and over. Has never done it when in gear or driving the car.
Ideas?

Nope, just got it flushed. It did this once before about 2 weeks ago.
It only does it if the following happens: vehicle is idle and I rev it up while idling, and only if it's been sitting there for a while (like at least 5 minutes). Soon as you drive away it goes away and doesn't come back.
Not a big problem, more curious than anything. Also, I've been stuck in traffic and it didn't do it, and this was on pretty hot days.
I need to find out where the beeping is coming from.

put your head under the steering column, if the beeping is coming from upward it the power steering control unit. if it's coming from the kick panel it's the CPU (beside the fuse panel) this should give you a start.

A constant buzzer with no pauses is usually the low coolant/oil buzzer. If the buzzer only comes on occasionally chances are you are low on oil. However to be safe just top off your oil and your radiator (not the reservoir but the actual radiator) and THOROUGHLY check for leaks of any kind including behind and around your throttle body as unnoticeable leaks can spring there.

I will go see if I can replicate this and figure out the source of the beep.

Probably the power steering computer telling you there is a problem with the system. The number of beeps before pausing will indicate the problem.
1-beep, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of speed sensor signal:
In case broken wires or short circuits occur to sensors or harnesses, the buzzer sounds 60-seconds after the engine speed signal of 2200 rpm continues for 18-seconds.
2-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of engine speed signal:
The buzzer sounds twice and repeats when the vehicle speed signal is missing input and/or no engine speed signal is found (short circuit, broken wire, etc.)
3-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of stepping motor signal:
The buzzer sounds when there are broken wires or short circuits in coils or harnesses.
4-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of the power steering microcomputer:
The buzzer sounds 4 and repeats when there are circuit troubles other than with the micro computer.
5-beeps, pause, repeat - in case abnormality of steering sensor signal: Steering sensor is mis-aligned or failed or steering wheel has been improperly installed.

probably from your power steering computer.. the faq says it will only beep 5 times max to give you the error code, but perhaps something is causing it to beep longer?

Did you ever figure out what it was? Our car did the same thing the other day no lights continuous beep. Car had been idling for about 5 minutes. I looked at the guages and saw that the oil pressure was way down near zero. Shut off the car checked oil level (good). Started back up oil pressure up and no beep. Just bought the car last month so not sure if that is why it beeped at me. Just wondering if you found what caused the beep.

Yea I know what you mean I have that too. I just got my car 3 days ago and I noticed it . Kinda sounds like a small deep thud sound coming from the exhaust. The person I bought it from said the car had a exhaust leak, I'm not sure that's the cause of it . Im trying to put my car up the air so I can see what's sup with it.
