The continuing saga of my 88 GXL...

Apex seals are blown - compression is about 55psi. :|

Thanks for the help, guys.

Time for a rebuild or a T2 swap.

Not sure yet. Leaning towards rebuild due to funds.

... Do you think we could franken-engine the two engines? Sean and I have the one in my car, and the one we got from you.

Crazy idea?

No cause both motors you have need a rebuild. It can be done, but not in your case. All of your rear apex seals are wore out.

Oh. :\

... well, time to sell the SKS I suppose.

I'll be getting 90 from a friend once he gets paid and another 100 for a paycheck.

We'll see after that.

Look at it this way: Fresh motor with new gaskets and seals inside and out. We can replace all vacuum lines and simplify things up. We even get to see the condition of the clutch. Its an oppurtunity to address everything at once, even any wiring issues! So there IS a positive to it.

Yeah true, there is some good to it. Now I know that it's a paperweight with a broken engine instead of a paperweight with mysterious electrical problems.

It just means I have to sell my SKS, which I'm entirely unhappy about in all kinds of ways.
