Contest!!

I was just wondering if some of you would like to post how many miles you have on your rx-7's to see who has the most. For the most part, I just want to know how many miles can be packed on these babies, I'm at 131k on my 88 and she's still running great.

A guy I work with has an 88 SE. It's got 235,000 MILES on the original motor. It's starting to smoke a little, but still runs well and pulls hard.

my odometer is broke, but my guestimate is 160k miles still on original engine/clutch/tranny.

I had one with 260k miles, engine was still great.

85GSL-SE is at 183,483
86Sport is 145,944
87SE is 166,128

the 85 just needs a few parts but runs good, the 86 runs great, and the 87 is still running perfect even though it is an auto

A guy up here in Syracuse has an '87 that he bought new that just turned over to 20K. It is absolutely the cleanest car I have ever seen. The car has never, ever been in the rain.

On the subject, my car has 109K but I was told the engine only has 50K.

My 86 GXL has about 225,000 miles, but it had the motor rebuilt at 165. It would have lasted MUCH longer, however, if I hadn't run the motor w/o coolant (heater hose ripped in hot weather while I was studk in traffic....)

Mine has 203K(1st gen) and 90K(Turbo II).

The guy which has about 9 RX-7's I've been getting used parts from and whatnot(he doesn't run a shop, just likes RX-7...but most are parts cars) has 360,000 on the original engine in his GSL-SE(still going strong! No smoke!)

more than halfway to 152k miles, pulls good but it's a little slow, probably would be faster with new engine

I just sold my 88 SE with 149K miles on the original engine and tranny.
Now I have an 88 TII with 99.5K miles on the original engine and tranny.
Both of them needed the new shifter bushings too. : )

My friend just got his 85 GSL. We dont know what the previous owner did but it had 970,00+ on the ODOMETER. Its now running on a 3rd motor. All i can say if its real milage is "good tough chassis"!..Not to mention a straight body!..
