connecting 2 coolant line

I've noticed that there is two coolant lines that are blocked off on my motor. 1 line is on the rear iron and the other one is behind the water pump housing.

My question is can i just run a coolant hose from one point to the other point?? Will this messed up the reading on my water temp gauge??

You can connect them, which is what most people do rather than block-off. There will be no affect on the temp gauge. These nipples are usually connected through the TB and BAC anyway.
