Hey guys, I'm just combing through my wiring and making sure I have things labelled correctly.

I have an 87 NA S4.

Im confused on this wire set. The FSM states that these are the water temp sensors. Is this for the sensor on the rear Iron (underneath the oil pressure sensor)? If so, what is that other wire? Is that nub (circled in red) part of a broken sensor or is that supposed to be there?

 

I have an 86 NA, and I think that is for the water temp switch at the bottom of the radiator. I believe it is only used for the AWS (accelerated warm up system). The nub you have circled looks to be the broken piece of the water temp switch. You should be able to pull out the little nub with pliers. Both wires should be female like the brown wire you have shown.

I'm not 100% sure, so please correct me if I am wrong.

Then what sensor goes on that water temp sensor on the iron?

Got it. That sensor labeled B is for the sub zero system.
