Question Confused FC

ok heres the deal. i have an black 89 "GTU" (it has a GTU sticker by doors on exterior) N/A and i was cool with that but i started looking around and...**** doesnt match up. first off,
---it has power windows...*SCREECH* GTU doesnt have power windows.
---it has 160 mph speedometer, these only come with 150 mph speedometer
---doesnt have 4 piston calipers on front disk (as it shouldnt...all the others have it)
---9000rpm tach w/8k redline (it has it as it should)
---it has a rear windshield wiper with washer (shouldnt come with one)
---87 turbo 16x7 rims (the ten spoked one)
Now take into account this is a salvaged car.
it could be possible that it was a junkyard car and they started Frankensteining the whole thing but...i dont know. any help is greatly appreciated.

all 89s came with 160 speedo. do a vin check, that will tell you what model its supposed to be.

also remember that money talks...

If I wanted GTU back in the day I could go to mazda and order that badboy with power windows, as long as I foot the bill they will add options to your car that didn't necessairly come standard with that particular model.

example - 5 speed Oldsmobile Intrigue/Alero.......yes thats right, for another 3350 you can have a stick shift in your grandma car

Maybe the GTU decal was added on. Victoria Brittish sells them for approx. $30. But then again... for $30 why didn't he just get the GTUs decal?
It's a possibility, I personally would love to make a GTUs replica (done right though, not like this one, if it is a replica).

Being a salvage car, I would bet it was in a front end accident and is a GXL that someone bolted GTU front end onto.

Pretty common junk yard thing to do.

Or maybe a rear end accident, that bent the doors, and they added a GXL rear hatch and doors onto.

yeah i was thinking that maybe the GTU decal was added and i also thought of the whole junkyard "frankenstein" thing where things from other models are put on there...damnit it would probably be worth paying to get a VIN check than the trouble of trying to figure this out...oh well. thanks for the tips.

Go to the vin check section in the classifieds and post up the vin and someone will run it for you...they did for me, three times.

They are 29.95 last time I checked. But then again, I think that's only for one, so you might have to double the price.
Go to victoriabritish.com the part number is 81-313-WH DECAL FRONT FENDER. Or you can just get the catalog sent to you for free.
