Confused with Boost sensors

Ok Im doing a T2 swap on a '88 SE, I bought a boost sensor from a fellow club member thats suppost to be for S4 T2 and its says n326 and it doesnt have a plug to put a vacuum line to it instead it has a cap , Then somewhere on the web I found out that I need a turbo N318 boost sensor instead of a n326 thats suppostofly for N/A application, today I googled the n326 and I found out that someone is selling the same one thru craiglist also saying thats from a s4 T2 and it also says its next to the ecu .

Are there two types of N326 boost sensors?

Am I ok with it and use it and just need to get the one that goes on the engine bay (n318)?

here are some pics of it

That is an ambient air pressure sensor, not a boost sensor.

It is located in the passengers kick panel and is used by the ECU to adjust timing and mixture based on barometric pressure on all S4 models (in other words.. same P/N for the ambient pressure sensor on both the Turbo and Non turbo).

N326 is S4 NA. You're right, you want N318.

Should I use it or does my N/A car has the same one already?

You don't need it. Without looking up the part numbers, I'd assume it's the same part on all S4s.

as icemark already said...that sensor is located next to the knock box on s4 t2 models...it is the atmospheric pressure sensor. i believe it is also the same part number as the pressure sensor for NA's on the passenger side strut tower without the vac nipple.

the boost sensor you are probably looking for is the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor which is N318 on s4 t2 models. you will probably need both for your swap. this one is located on the pass strut tower on s4 t2 models.

wanna know a secret? Pull the cap off, in the second picture on the right. It comes off and it's a nipple. But it's not the one you need.

Well, darn. I didn't know that. Learn something new everyday. Gotta go out and check that out this morning. Seems if the car is a non turbo that it would work. Not a turbo car though. Only one atmosphere for that N326.
