I'm using the 9's in my TII they work really well, they are a bitch to install and remove because the spark plug is shorter, and the nut sits inside those hoods on the housings; a thin walled socket is required for installation, and removal.

Question is, are they worth the extra hassle. And if so, why?

I'm glad to hear that the rotary does NOT use spark plugs. I can save some money on my next tune up ;-)

I'm still curious about anyone taking the Iridium challenge, as per Racing Beats recommendation.
whats the differnece between the 3 types? platinum, standard, iridium? are they different levels of quality?

I know this is a pretty stupid question...but before my rebuild, I pulled all the plugs out of the engine. Now I have a brand new set from Mazda (the NGK BUR7EQ, NGK BUR9EQ).

I'm lost as to which one belongs in which hole because I remember doing a spark plug change years ago and realizing that each plug is supposed to go in a specific spot. Is it the leading hole that the BUR9EQ goes in, or is it the trailing hole?

Can anyone with these plugs do me a favor and find out for me? Thanks.

If you look on either the plugs or the box it will have a "T" for trailing (bottom) and "L" for leading (top) IIRC.

Reason being Autozone does not carry many NGK plugs. The plugs they do carry are for motorcycles only.

Yup. Just wanted to throw in that an easy way to remember is...
Leading = Lower
Trailing = Top
