compressor surge/cleaning bov

Ok, I'm getting what i believe is compressor surge. Have an apexi twin chamber...and at release it does the turkey sounds (really annoying btw). Anyway, I'm going to go play with the adjustment on it tomorrow. I have no manual but I'm assuming I should let the adjustment screw out some to try to get rid of the surge? Also, does anybody have a short write up on cleaning a bov, and what to oil it with after cleaning it? Thanks.

anybody? I've messed with the adjustment both in and out...so next gonna take it apart and clean it as it's been sitting up for a couple years unused. What do I need to lubricate it with when reassembling?

if you adjusted it and it did nothing... it might be the vaccum source. If youre going to clean it wipe the internals down with some wd40. Make sure there is no excess and put it back together. backing the adjustment screw out will loosen the spring (will psshht easier).

yea the adjustment screw is WAY out and it still just flutters. I heard after taking it apart and cleaning it to just use motor oil to grease it up? As far as wd40...i've had bad luck with that stuff over time just making stuff stick worse...it just gunks up. Anyway, i think i'm going to try just wiping some motor oil on and seeing what happens.

Clean it out with carb cleaner. Spray it in let it soak for a minute then manually force the piston open. Repeat several times. Do not let the carb cleaner sit in there too long or you will destroy the oring that seals the bov. I've heard of several apexi bovs failing.
