Unhappy compression test done......=(

yealp..i just did my compression test today....sucks sad....the front rotor bunces constatly at 65-70 and the rear one omg ..didnt even past one =( i dont kno what to do...should i spend money on rebuilding both rotors or sould i just replace the engine or is the front rotor still ok ...just the back i need to rebuild?? if i was to get a new engine i hear s5's have lighter rotors and its faster ..not sure..im new at this..and if i do get just the engine can i use all my s4 things and put it on the s5 ..or should i just stay with an s4 engine ....well you guys just feel free to give me ideas ..i just want some one with experience so i wont make any mistakes.. i regret it after im done ..and how much would it cost for what ever ideas you are giving me.and where would i get the parts from ......i dont kno i really want it to be faster and better then what i had.. 87 s4 t2 racing beat full cat ,fuel cut defensor, walbro fuel pump...k-sport 36 way adjustable shocks and struts..cheap pepboy cone filter lol thaats bout it...oh yea mk1 short shifter...it was coming in the mail but i blew my rear rotor or seal b4 i even got to put it...so yea any ideas would help guys thanks ........

s5 N/A's get 160HP, redline = 8000rpm
s4 N/A's get 146HP, redline = 7000rpm
s5 Turbos get more than s4 turbos too. I don't remember the #'s, but the difference is similar (180 and 200, maybe?)
s5 engine probably more expensive, so it's up to you.

I'm not saying you should or shouldn't get a new engine. I have no clue about rebuilding. Sorry I'm not much of a help here.

Buy a rebuild video. Then watch it about 20 times... Then rebuild it yourself. Thats how I did my first build...

get it rebuilt, and it will have to be the full gasket and seal kit, I would do it just to make sure. You wont know how the rear is until you open it up. most likely the rotor and housing is both bad but can be found for cheap used( THINK EBAY ). And one thing I got to ask you how much were you boosting? I know s4 wastegates are pretty pathetic, and with a full racing beat exhaust, it will boost creep to 14-15psi without porting of the wastegate. The s5 wastegates were good and all the people I knew with s5 wastegates were only hitting 10psi in 3rd gear without porting. You also had no fuel controller, I noticed. You gotta have some sort of controller like SAFC or HKS F-con, if you wanna go cheap and its pretty cheap used. or you can go standalone if you got the money. I wonder how people blow their motors so quick. i've been racing my jdm t2 engine a lot when it had 95psi(but drive normal when im not), and its still at the same compression, actually its better than when i first got it started and pulls a lot stronger. (now I have 102psi). I do change the oil every 2000-2500 miles and other maintenance during each intervals. Gotta take care of these things man. good luck.

o yea, get a s5 block and use the s4 manifolds, harness, etc., it is easier than swapping the whole s5 electronics, harness, etc. s5 t2 is 200hp and s4t2 is 182hp. and be sure to switch to s5 turbo.
