Compression problems on my new rx7

OK so here is the deal i just bought this 1987 Rx7 turbo 2 from a guy, it has problems ideling and it wont go past 20 MPH atm, once the engine is warm it wont start back up. but when its cold it starts just fine but again wont idle so i have to sit and give it gas or else it just dies out...my friend thinks its the apex seals... i just need help on what other possible problems it could be, because i would much rather hope to find an easy fix because i want a rebuild to be my last resort. we checked the fuel injecters and they are fine so i know thats not it. the spark plugs foul up(get water on them) thats why he thinks its the apex seals or side seals.... and thats why it wont start up after it starts the first few times i think

if there is water on your plugs that means you have blown coolant seals rebuild your engine.

Smell the oil and if it smells like coolant its the coolant seals. But like the guy above posted, you need a rebuild most likely because of the water. If you don't already know a master rebuild kit is about $1k.

Just throwing this out there, i'm no rotary no all. I was having a prob with my FC couldn't get over 45mph then it got worst as it got hotter before i got to the shop I was doing bout -10 mph. It ended up being the Cat Converter causing alot of backflow check on that cuase it's only a $300 fix and you can do it your self. Hell if it's not a new would'nt hurt. But I thought it was the seals also I was happy to heart it was just the cat converter.

Water on the spark plugs means that the motor has a bad coolant seal or cracked water jacket so you need to stop driving this car now before the damage gets worst,if is a coolant seal you dont want to overheat the motor,if is burning oil you dont want to run it low in oil(it could be a oil control ring or any of the oil o-ring)any way the motor needs to come apart and get rebuild, you can use all the hard parts and hard seals if they still in specs(i dont like to do this, everytime that a motor is taken apart every single seal should get replaced)and just replace the bad seals and put it back together and see if it works
