compression loss, need ideas please

ok, i have had someone tell me that i may have blown the apex gasket(?) and that means a new engine most likely. one reason i'm thinking maybe i didn't mess up the rotor is that this didn't occur while driving, or i should say i didn't notice anything while driving. I drove home normally and parked for the night, then came out next morning to start and got the problem.

i have spark, gas pumping, and it just spins fairly smoothly like there is a loss of compression. i was told that removing the spark plugs and squirting some oil in there was a way to make a seal again? if i try this should i stop fuel from pumping ? or does anyone know of a better way to fix this problem?

it may be that my engine is done, but would like to make sure before i take it to be worked on. any ideas/help is appreciated. thanks

Pull the EGI fuse, spin it for 10-20 secs. Replace EGI and try to start.

If that doesn't work, do it over without spark plugs too, and spin for about 30 secs.

As long as you let the car fully warm up before shutting it back off then you should be okay.
