Components of A/C...
I have done a search and couldn't find much relevant information.
I have taken out the Air Conditioning compressor, condensor, and receiver/dryer as well as all connecting lines. Are there any other A/C components inside or outside the car that can be removed? Thanks guys,
- Eliot

anyone know how much the heater core, and all under dash heater components weigh? cus mines comin' out along with the A/C crap.
the heater should still function correctly with the A/C gone, it just won't be able to make the air cold.

The heater core and A/C evaporator are completely seperate, so removing the evaporator won't affect the heater at all.
But it's a crazy amount of work to get out, and the weight is a tiny fraction of the car's total weight that you'd never notice. Not worth the hassle.

I have heard, and this is only what I heard so take it with a grain of salt, but for ever 100 lbs of **** you remove from the car, that will give you an extra 1/10th of a second in the 1/4 mile.

It's just a little relay that controls the A/C compressor. It's with the other relays in front of the radiator.
Don't worry about it. I think Hailers was joking about removing it...

The A/C evaporator does NOT require dash removal to take out. Remove the glove box and it sits right behind it just to the left. Three or 4 10mm mounting screws, a handful of spring clips that hold it to the fan blower on the right and the heater core on the left, and disconnect one or two small electrical connectors, and bingo it's out.
The whole system, not including the logicon weights 33 lbs as weighed by me 3 weeks ago. This includes all the lines, the compressor, the condensor, the dryer, the evaporator, the relays, the expansion valve, one or two of the hard line brackets, and the AC idler pulley and the belt itself.
