Comp. Fuse keeps frying

So this morning i'm driving to work and about 5min in to driving my car just dies. So after cursing at the rotary Gods I realize that its just a small problem.. or so i thought. My comp. fuse blew and thats why the car died and i couldnt start it. So i figured it was old and i just needed a new one but i was wrong because i put in a new one and it just blew right away. I looked in the Haynes manual and there isnt much info on electrical problems. What could be the problem?

Might want to check for bare wires in the area of the devices where the fuse feeds power to.

My favorite short finding technique is to bust out the wiring diagrams then isolating parts of the circuit in question, and checking that portion of the circuit for continuity to ground. This technique can be a royal PITA if connectors are buried under the dash, but I can almost guarantee you'll find the problem if you do it right.

The thirty amp EGI COMP fuse feeds all those solenoids on the engine plus the two on the ACV. Each of those items has one BLACK/WHITE wire, that comes from the thirty amp EGI COMP fuse.

Look at the black/white wires on the ACV first, then the other elect plugs on the other solenoids.

Ok so i am getting the wiring diagram and checking it all out today. Random question though. I just had a FMIC installed. Any chance that the new piping has burned through any of the wire covering that is coming from that fuse box? Are any of those wires in the vicinity?

That or a wire was nicked in the install. Check the wires that Hailers mentioned for damage.

ok so i am still a little dumbfounded at this situation. I haven't found any exposed wires in the places HAILERS said to look.. If i have someone try to start the car while i am looking under the hood will i be able to see some kind of spark?

Another thing that confuses me is that if something was cut by accident when the work was being done on my car why would it have taken so long to stop working? It was working fine one minute and the next it wont at all.. Electrical problems ******* Blow

It probably has something to do with that front mount intercooler and the ENGINE BAY fuse box. Look for something touching the wires under the 30A EGI COMP fuse. Everything worked prior to doing that work.

Then again, the fmic must be running to the throttle body which is near the solenoids that are/were located on the left side of the engine.

The EGI COMP feeds a black/white wire at each of the solenoids on the left of the engine plus the solenods on the ACV. Prior to leavinging the Main Relay that wire is another color. See FSM wiring diagram. I think it's W/L b/t the Main Relay and the Engine bay fuse box. That white/blue should be the color of the wire below the 30amp EGI COMP fuse.
