cold start/ thermowax
cold start/ thermowax
If someone took that screw off where the thermowax is, would that metal part still go up from the thermowax if there wasn't any coolant going to the intake manifold? I have those coolant lines going to the turbo and i just seen that they just took that little screw out.
thats the only thing i could think that would cause that since the only thing i have on the engine is that air supply valve and nothing else. It runs fine until after a couple of minutes of driving then it idles at like 3700 rpms. but when cold it idles arund 1000
I bet her butt is cold on those blocks of ice! I wish I was that ice...
Oh, sorry got sidetracked. Rip all that stuff out, cold start isn't good for an engine, just better for emissions.

The thermowax is not bad for the engine and it's not for emissions. All it does is raise the idle of a cold engine to 900-1000rpm when it's cold, because most engines idle very poorly (if at all) at the normal 750-800rpm when they're cold. You (and plenty of others) are getting confused with the accelerated warm-up system that raises the idle speed of a cold engine to 3000rpm for the first 17 seconds after starting to heat up the pre-cat. This is a totally different and totally seperate system.
