Cold Idle Problem - No AWS
Hello guys. A little help please.
After a rebuild, my, stock FC3C S5 doesnt idle when cold.
The situation:
The car is cold: I turn the switch, The motor starts, vroummm, no 3000rpm, and almost instantly drops revs, and shuts down (dies).
If I press a little the gas pedal, turn the ignition, the car starts, I "help" it idle around 1200rpm about 1-3 minutes, and then idles fine.
WHEN WARM, the engine starts NORMAL, and idles NORMAL! At the road, the car pulls perfect.
I think a AWS problem, cause before the rebuild I had the "3000rpm jump" and high idle till the motor gets warm.
Now I dont have the AWS. And the motor shuts down when cold...
I know its something little that breaks my b@lls, so plz, a little expert help?
THANKS!

There is a cold start fast idle cam on the TB.
It is advanced by a thermo-wax device.
A 3/8" coolant circuit heats the thermo-wax, which pushes back the fast idle cam after warm up.
In the FSM "fuel & emissions" section page F1-36 shows the adjustment procedure.
Click on the link in my sig & navigate to that PDF file.
You may download & print what you need.
