Cold engine idle hunting
I remember someone else with this problem, but I couldn't find the thread. 91 N/A...when the engine is cold the idle hunts between 1200 and 1500. Once it warms up the idle settles down to it's normal 800. Is the problem with the TPS or the thermowax? or is it something else?

The answer is yes.
The thermo-wax fast idle cam is set a little to high, and/or the TPS is a little low.
When the TPS is telling the ECU closed throttle, the ECU limits revs to 1500.
So the fast idle can is trying to idle at >1500, & the ECU fuel cuts till the revs get <1500.
Zoom, zoom, zoom.

This is clipped from the on-line FSM.
It is for the turbo TB.
The screw on the right of the bottom picture is the fast idle speed adjust.
BTW this shows the cam you can pull off to set the TPS without having to warm up the engine.
