cold air box, do you like??

I tried to post this a few days ago but the pics didn't work and I fell asleep before I tried posting again.

anyway, I decided to make a cold air box for my intake and, well, what do you guys think?(look at the attachments)

It's designed so that air flows into the pass-to-flash lense, and makes its way toward the cold air box.

I tried to put a tube into the space to ram the cold air into the box, but the light would not flip up with the hose in place. I'm still workind on trying to get it to fit.

oh yeah, and with the box there's a crazy high pitched whiney sound coming from it! it sounds sweet!

also it's now really easy to spin the tires into 2nd. I have the intake and bonez superflow cat and RP catback. how much power do you think I have. It's an 87' N/A

I took me about 2 hours for the last 2 nights, so 4 hours total(obviously). I made it out of some alluminium sheeting I found in my garage and rubber trim stuff I bought at the hardware store.
I wasn't sure if it'd block the heat much, but after I drove the car today i opened the engine and that filter was somewhat cold! normally its like 8000000 degrees.

i am still confused as to why everyone uses such a heat conductive material, at least wrap it in insulation

Not too bad , I guess. Have a look at this one made with aircraft aluminum and with a real lid.

If you don't take out the front lense then is the intake gonna suffocate??

I love the yellow arrows hehe

Have a look at this one made with aircraft aluminum and with a real lid.
HOOD = LID (for those of us who have some spatial sense (j/k)

If you don't take out the front lense then is the intake gonna suffocate??
In this case it might, normally the CAB extends all the way to the pass. side fender, allowing cold air to be drawn in through the side of the hood, in this case I'm not sure...
Oh... from the looks of things, it's open along the back and side, allowing air in that way, but this air would be coming from the engine compartment...
