s5 n/a alternator on s/5 TII?

So i just bought an alternator off a guy here, and my ignorance lead me to undrstand that there would be no difference between a N/A and a TII... little did i think about the stock intercooler above the alternator as i have a FMIC... so anyways, if i turned the B terminal to fit my air intake, like the typical tII alternator fits, could i still run the N/A alternator, my main concern is the L and S connector of the alternator, would the intake get hot enough to melt the connector or wires?

Do you have a pic of this setup, I dont have a T2 but isnt the alt in the same place as our N/A's? I doubt the connector would melt.

Yeah. Rotate the large terminal to clear the intercooler. The plastic piece of the large terminal will rotate if you unscrew the nut holding it down. Memory fades here. I think there might be some alteration to the plastic piece. Just do it and find out.

Ok, so related question.... Until I can get to an impact wrench to get the dual pulley off the old alternator and onto the new one, will it be ok to just run a single belt or is there too much strain on just one belt? I've got the smog pump, power steering and a/c pumps removed, so all i am running belts to are the water pump, alternator and e-shaft.....
