coil pack compatibilty?

I just bought a 87 TII and it is missing the coil pack towards the rear of the engine bay. I'm wondering if NA coils will work on a TII because there are tons of NA's at the local U-Pull it place.

Thanks, Ed

Sweet I'm going to go get one today!

Thanks for the help Hailers you always answer my questions no one else reponds to. Your TII caught fire as well, right? Is yours running now?

Got another interchange question. Are the NA, TII power steering units the same?

Thanks, ed

Fire was minor, but prompted me to buy four new injector electrical leads and splice them in. Car was up and running the next day.

Power steering? Don't have it. Know nada about it.

I know they can have power steering. I was wondering if TII's ever came without it from the factory.

Oops, misread your comment. My bad!
Now that I think about it, I don't remember seeing or hearing of any Turbos without power steering.

If a previous owner has removed all the power steering components and swapped in a manual rack, the only evidence in the engine bay would be a spare 6-pin plug somewhere near the rack.

For the 87 and 88 T2, power steering was an option on the US models.
