Code 17: somewhat confused.

my check engine light came on a couple times while i was driving yesterday so i decided to do the ole ecu code pull (oh how i love series5's) and got code 17. i checked out scotts site and listed below what he has listed for code 17. I am assuming this means that my my EGI system is ******* up. but thats the only sense i could make of the list (below) and i dont really know what to do.

input device:
feedback system

malfunction:
oxygen sensor output remains 0.55v 10 sec.

fail safe function:
after F/B system operation beginning feedback system canceled(for EGI)

damn thats what i thought. i noticed that code15 (oxygen sensor) is almost the same malfunction and fail-safe function as code 17.

code 17 is the ecu looking for the back and forth rich/lean cycling of the o2 sensor and not seeing it

It could also mean no feedback, as in broken wire. If after replacing and the problem still exists, check continuity in wiring.

ya could be the wiring also. I had to replace my wire once. it got shorted out in the harness somewhere.

check the voltage of the o2 sensor with it pluged in and unpluged (car running and warm)

see if it's the same or not (should be)

yeah i decided to finally go hardcore. carburator cleaner on the entire engine then pressure wash the whole thing. probably a good idea to disconnect the battery but i didnt care enough to do that. i was wondering how many fuses i was gonna blown when i started the car.

grease was my bitch yesterday.
