clutch switch

what is the clutch switch or clutch sensor
ive heard clutch sensor used to refer to the crank angle sensor sometimes
???

There are two clutch switches and they have nothing to do with the CAS or crank angle sensor. One clutch sw is a starter Interlock switch that is part of the starting circuit. You have to have the clutch pedal depressed to make the starter circuit.

The other clutch switch is for the cruise control and/or making a circuit to the ECU to let the ECU know that you are.......depressing the clutch pedal and getting ready to put the car in gear??? Yes. The engine will start whether or not that particular sw is made or not.

The Interlock switch is the most upper of the two switches on the clutch pedal. Waaay up there at the top.
