at that rpm, your clutch is going to be the least of your problems.

what kinda rebuild did you do for the engine to be seeing 12000+ rpms???? And I think a scatter plate is a much wiser investment...

i got a scatter plate
its a street port with a little porting done on the exhaust
i made 2 inch headers that got to a straight pipe to a racing beat exhaust
ive sence gutted the car and the engine bay
tuned the carb for more fuel in the upper rpm levels and it pulls way past 8500 and i run that high to beat the civics and nissans and 350z that want to race me

All I know for sure is there are very few (well readilly available, guaranteed to go) clutches that are safe to 12-18000(? how) RPM.

I had some info bookmarked on some racing clutches (from Australia sites) that I will post if I can dig it up.

They should have the clutch that you need. 16lbs TOTAL with clutch and pressure plate. Made to take mad high RPM's. Sounds like what you need.

Also, sounds like one hell of an engine. Where did you get the scatter shield. I think that I may invest in one soon enough.

there's more internal work that needs to be done inside the engine to safely handle those rpms. besides, do you really wanna rev to or past 12,000 just to beat a few civics and nissans? for the simple fact that you EVEN MENTIONED 18000rpm, you got me worried. youre asking about a clutch?? what about an engine that will hold that? entire drivetrain for that matter. if you cant beat them revving to 9000rpm, try to tune yourself a better engine.
what do dynos rev to? and where you gonna find an 18000rpm tach?? ya got two 10000rpm tachs next to one another?!

Ya know, thats not a bad idea...

j/k, but I think that casio is right in what he's saying. The engine was never made or intended to go that high. At the very least you should have redoweled the engine and used hardend stat gears and a 2-peice e-shaft.

i think someone is exxaggerating here, try setting the tach on the right setting so it isn't reading twice what you are putting out. not only the clutch and engine should you worry about but your transmission bearings spinning at unbearable speeds the transmission is likely to grenade at RPMs like that.

as suggested tune your engine for more power or replace it every race, your choice.

12k rpm! you're askin to die!! Those kinda rpm's makes frizbees out of your flywheel. You might want to consider a driveline loop, and another rear-end too. When the one you have now comes apart--you won't be able to put it back together!!---but seriously--try a multi disk clutch. Their made for high torque and rpm applications. The stuff above happens too if you don't beef everything from the rear of the eccentric shaft back---BIG BUCKS
